All-day Grief Tending in Community

Cost: £40 / £50 / £60 including lunch.
Join us for a spacious day, which will unfold slowly, in community, in the beautiful quiet of the Loxley valley, 20 minutes drive from central Sheffield. The space we use is big enough to move and stretch in, it has a peaceful private garden which will be used during the day to support our connection to nature and the wider world, and stunning views over the valley.
The aim of the day is to slow down a little, connect with ourselves and each other, and explore and express some of the grief we are carrying with us, be that a personal loss, ancestral and intergenerational grief or trauma, or pain for world losses, whether human, animal or ecological.
The day will include slow mindful movement, poetry, speaking/listening, reflective writing, silence, and simple elements of ritual. Drinks, snacks and a simple lunch will be provided.
The day long grief tending events we run are a deeper dive into grief than the evenings. The extra time and space give us a rare opportunity to connect a little more deeply with ourselves, our grief, with each other and with the world.
We hope you’ll feel able to be exactly as you are or need to be during the day – what we offer as prompts for reflection, connection or expression of grief are invitations, that you can engage with, or not, as you wish.
We ask that you consider for yourself whether a full day grief tending is the right thing at the right time for you – if you are experiencing very acute grief, and/or have very little support, other forms of support might be more helpful.
